On my left foot my second and thrid foot are the same lenght and both bigger than my big toe but on my right foot my second and third toe are about 1 inch apart and still both longer than my big toe.

All 3 of my first toes on Both feet are the same length, heh I don't really mind I think people notice more than I do. It just sucks having square feet. Don't feel strange, it's Great to be different.

I have a Morton's toe, but overall fairly pretty feet. I'm a size 9 women's, 7 men's, US sizes. I found that my big feet made me very stable jogging in the stony creek bed. My feet were pretty enough for a shoe fetishist to buy strappy sandals and place them on my Morton toed feet :). I got wide feet from my father and (flexible) flat feet from my mother (they look perfect until place weight ont hem, so I do well in nicely supported Nikes, do horribly in New Balance).

I like to think that my big toe is shorter not that the second is bigger as the big toe is the one slightly deformed. In my family, it seems to affect males and is seen in a direct line through my grandfather who is English. Not many males in my family have it and no females do.

Society is mediated through discourse on what is normal vs abnormal.If the lines are blurred on issues such as knowledge and the body, then the bigger picture also gets misconstrued.It is a method of control dating way back. However,everyones body varies across the planet,and now that we are being brought together through moderization-we will begin to see MANY MORE exceptions to the NORMS in society.(Not only concerning toes!).

Omg! I have a longer 2nd toe too! I am related to older timed English royalty but thats how they used to decide who was king! :) I thought it was pretty uncommon but it seems like alot of people have it ! :)

In my father's family and beyond, certain members were blessed or cursed with "McMenamin big toe" syndrome. The advantages: Was probably a hunter as opposed to a gatherer in pre-historic times; did not need a runner's block. Disadvantages: Need to wear wide, bigger size shoe (hard to find in fashionable footware. Ex-husband remarked more than once "it'like another foot. When I was born was easy to see I have 5 toes.
